Category: DSL and Broadband Access

Description: Manages Quantum Bridge repeater port configuration, link status, and hub/repeater topology information.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is QB-RPT-MIB?

QB-RPT-MIB is a Quantum Bridge Communications proprietary MIB that defines objects for retrieving diagnostic and status reports generated by the Quantum Bridge Command Line Interface (QBCLI) on Quantum Bridge network devices. It belongs to the vendor's proprietary device-management/reporting area, bridging CLI-style diagnostic output into SNMP-retrievable form. Its exposed data centers on report-oriented conformance and grouping objects used to structure retrievable system report information, functioning as a software-status reporting mechanism rather than exposing raw hardware sensors directly. No specific dependency on other standard MIBs is evident from the available module description beyond general Quantum Bridge enterprise MIB conventions. It is typically deployed on Quantum Bridge access and transport devices where administrators use the QBCLI and want equivalent report data available via SNMP polling. Engineers can download the QB-RPT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in QB-RPT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

Given only qbSysRptCompliances and qbSysRptGroups are available as sample objects -- both conformance/grouping constructs rather than runtime data leaves -- this module's visible structure is largely a conformance statement describing which report object groups a compliant agent implements. A concrete polling scenario for actual report content cannot be honestly constructed from these two objects alone; an administrator would instead consult the full MIB tree (not captured in the sample) for the underlying report tables that qbSysRptGroups references.
