Category: MPLS and Traffic Engineering

Description: Manages BATM Advanced Communication RSVP-TE signaling configuration, LSP state, and bandwidth reservation on MPLS TE tunnels.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is PRVT-RSVP-MIB?

PRVT-RSVP-MIB is a vendor-specific enterprise MIB from BATM Advanced Communication for managing RSVP-TE signaling used to establish and maintain MPLS traffic-engineered tunnels/LSPs on its Carrier Ethernet/MPLS platforms. In this batch only its conformance section (compliance and group definitions) is present rather than the underlying runtime data objects. An RSVP-TE-related module of this kind would normally expose LSP/tunnel state, bandwidth reservation, and signaling status objects used to confirm traffic-engineered paths remain up and adequately provisioned, but that data is not represented in the objects available here. It depends conceptually on IETF RSVP-TE/MPLS-TE standards even though implemented as a private BATM extension. It is typically deployed on BATM MPLS-capable Carrier Ethernet switches in telecom transport networks. Engineers can download the PRVT-RSVP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PRVT-RSVP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • BATM Advanced Communication MPLS/Carrier Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

The sample_objects available for this MIB (prvtRsvpConformance, prvtRsvpCompliances, prvtRsvpGroups) are conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES-style definitions rather than runtime data objects, so no concrete monitoring scenario can be honestly constructed from the data given here; these objects instead declare which RSVP-related objects and groups an agent implementation must support to be considered compliant.
