What Is PRVT-CR-LDP-MIB?
PRVT-CR-LDP-MIB is a private MIB from BATM Advanced Communications for managing Constraint-based Routing Label Distribution Protocol (CR-LDP), an MPLS traffic-engineering signaling protocol, on BATM's networking equipment. It exposes signaling session tables that track per-LSP session state, including path manager and LSR indices, socket interface index, buffer pool sizing, and administrative/operational status, all defined under the PRVT-CR-LDP-MIB OID branch registered by BATM. Monitoring here is centered on software/protocol status — administrators check prvtcrldpSigAdminStatus versus prvtcrldpSigOperStatus to confirm an LSP signaling session is actually up, and buffer pool size objects to catch resource exhaustion in the signaling stack, rather than physical hardware attributes. It explicitly builds on the MPLS framework (via the imported mpls tree) and the standard CR-LDP protocol it manages. It is deployed on BATM MPLS-capable routers/switches in networks using CR-LDP-based traffic engineering.

Monitoring Examples
An operator polling prvtcrldpSigTable/prvtcrldpSigEntry indexed by prvtcrldpSigIndex can compare prvtcrldpSigAdminStatus to prvtcrldpSigOperStatus per session to spot an LSP that failed to come up. prvtcrldpSigPathManagerIndex and prvtcrldpSigLsrIndex identify which path manager and LSR instance own a given signaling session, useful when troubleshooting a specific tunnel. prvtcrldpSigSessionBufPoolSize, prvtcrldpSigEMBufPoolSize, and prvtcrldpSigAMBufPoolSize can be checked for signs of buffer exhaustion under heavy signaling load.

If this flag is set policy is enforced on a per FEC basis and the same policy decision is assumed to apply for all peers. The suppressAddressPolicy flag if set prevents PRVT-LDP from performing any Policy processing on receipt of a Address or Address Withdraw message from a peer. If this field is not set then its default value is determined by the RCP_USER_DO_POLICY compile time flag. Changes to the value of policy_support_flags are not permitted whilst the MIB row is active. |
