Description: HH3C MIB for SRv6 Policy management configuring SRv6 traffic engineering paths on H3C routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-SRV6POLICY-MIB?

HH3C-SRV6POLICY-MIB manages SRv6 Traffic Engineering (SRv6-TE) policies on H3C routers, part of the segment-routing-over-IPv6 feature set used to steer traffic along explicit paths in modern IP/MPLS-replacement networks. It exposes both policy configuration — a policy table keyed by attributes like color and endpoint, used to identify and select an SRv6-TE policy — and a resource table tracking consumption of hardware/software resources (current count vs. upper/lower limits) consumed by these policies. Its monitoring value is mainly software/configuration-status oriented: hh3cSrv6PolicyResCurrentCnt approaching hh3cSrv6PolicyResUpperLimit warns of resource exhaustion that would prevent new SRv6 policies from being programmed, a forwarding-plane capacity issue rather than a physical hardware fault. It depends conceptually on the broader SRv6/segment-routing architecture (IETF SRv6 drafts/RFCs) that defines the color/endpoint policy model it implements. It is typically deployed on H3C core/edge routers in service-provider or large enterprise IPv6 backbones using segment routing for traffic engineering, and an HH3C-SRV6POLICY-MIB download supplies the object definitions needed to monitor policy and resource state from a MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SRV6POLICY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C router (IPv6/SRv6-capable)

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll hh3cSrv6PolicyTable/hh3cSrv6PolicyEntry by hh3cSrv6PolicyColor and hh3cSrv6PolicyEndPoint to confirm a specific named policy (hh3cSrv6PolicyName) exists and matches the intended path, and check hh3cSrv6PolicyResourceTable's hh3cSrv6PolicyResCurrentCnt against hh3cSrv6PolicyResUpperLimit to see if the router is nearing its SRv6 policy capacity. hh3cSrv6PolicyResourceTotalCnt trending upward across the network would signal growing SRv6-TE adoption that may require capacity planning.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SRv6 policy count and resource limits
  • policy color/endpoint identifiers
  • policy name
  • resource utilization vs. upper/lower limit

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using hh3cSrv6PolicyBsidConflictState OID:

Select an H3C router, IPv6/SRv6-capable (SRv6-TE policies) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hh3cSrv6PolicyBsidConflictState into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The conflict state of the binding SID. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is an INTEGER-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the value is anything other than 'conflictResolved', since that indicates the condition this object reports has changed to one worth investigating. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
