Description: Manages IISP (Interim Inter-switch Signaling Protocol) ATM signaling configuration on PairGain Technologies equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PAIRGAIN-IISP-MIB?
PAIRGAIN-IISP-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from PairGain Technologies for monitoring and controlling Interim Inter-Switch Signaling Protocol (IISP) routing used in ATM network signaling. It exposes a route address table describing configured ATM address prefixes, their associated interface, administrative and operational status, and row lifecycle/timestamp information. Its monitoring value centers on software/protocol status of ATM signaling routes — administrators track pgIISPRouteAddrOperStatus against pgIISPRouteAddrAdminStatus to detect routes that have gone down despite being administratively enabled, which signals ATM signaling path failures rather than a general hardware fault. It builds on standard ATM/IISP signaling concepts and RowStatus/SNMPv2-SMI conventions for table row management rather than depending on a specific external MIB. It is deployed on PairGain ATM-capable access or aggregation equipment where IISP static routing between switches needs operational visibility. Engineers can download the PAIRGAIN-IISP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PAIRGAIN-IISP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- PairGain Technologies ATM signaling equipment
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls pgIISPRouteAddrTable/pgIISPRouteAddrEntry, indexed by pgIISPRouteAddrIndex, to compare pgIISPRouteAddrAdminStatus against pgIISPRouteAddrOperStatus for each configured route. A route showing adminStatus enabled but operStatus down indicates a signaling path failure to that ATM address/prefix, and pgIISPRouteAddrTimeStamp reveals how long the route has been in that state. Reviewing pgIISPRouteAddrPrefixLength and pgIISPRouteAddrIfIndex together confirms the route is bound to the expected physical ATM interface.
What Can Be Monitored
- IISP route administrative status
- IISP route operational status
- route address/prefix configuration
- route interface binding
- route status change timestamp
