Description: Provides management objects for packet analyzer and port mirroring configuration on Juniper Networks EX and QFX switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is JUNIPER-ANALYZER-MIB?

JUNIPER-ANALYZER-MIB is Juniper Networks' enterprise MIB for the Analyzer/Remote Analyzer port-mirroring feature on EX and QFX switches, allowing traffic from one or more ports to be copied to a local or remote analyzer port. It exposes configuration and status data—analyzer instance definitions, mirroring ratio, input port/VLAN selection and type, output destination, and loss-priority settings. Rather than hardware health, this MIB is used to monitor and verify the operational status of configured port-mirroring sessions—whether an analyzer instance is enabled, its mirroring ratio, and which inputs/outputs are bound to it—a software/feature-configuration status use case. It is a Juniper enterprise-specific extension rather than a standard IETF port-mirroring MIB. It is typically deployed in enterprise/data-center networks using Juniper EX/QFX switches for traffic capture, security monitoring, or troubleshooting. Engineers can download the JUNIPER-ANALYZER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in JUNIPER-ANALYZER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper Networks EX switches
  • Juniper Networks QFX switches

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll jnxAnalyzerTable/jnxAnalyzerEntry for jnxAnalyzerStatus to confirm an analyzer session (named via jnxAnalyzerName) is enabled, and check jnxMirroringRatio to verify only 1-in-N packets are being copied rather than the full stream. The jnxAnalyzerInputTable (jnxAnalyzerInputValue, jnxAnalyzerInputType) shows which source ports/VLANs feed the analyzer, while jnxAnalyzerOutputTable identifies the destination port—useful for confirming a mirroring session is still correctly bound after a configuration change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • analyzer session status
  • mirroring ratio
  • mirrored input ports/VLANs
  • analyzer output destination
  • loss priority setting
