Category: Protocol: MPLS, Vendor: Juniper

Description: Juniper Networks conformance and compliance definitions MIB for MPLS protocol management on Juniper ERX/E-series edge routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-MPLS-CONF?

Juniper-MPLS-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module documenting the SNMP agent's support for MPLS (MultiProtocol Label Switching) management objects on Juniper E-series edge routers. It defines no runtime managed objects itself, only declaring which groups and object variations of the underlying MPLS MIB(s) the agent implements. It therefore carries no direct hardware or software status information and is not polled during normal operational monitoring. Its function is to let NMS platforms and MIB compilers determine the level of MPLS SNMP support available on a given device. It applies to Juniper E-series/ERX edge routers running MPLS, and the Juniper-MPLS-CONF MIB is the reference NMS platforms use to check agent support.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-MPLS-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper E-series/ERX edge router

Monitoring Examples

This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES definition with no runtime data objects (sample_objects is empty), so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe; it only declares which MPLS MIB OIDs the agent implements.
