Category: Domain: WAN, Frame Relay, Vendor: IBM

Description: IBM MIB for Frame Relay Border Relay Service (FRBRS) providing WAN frame relay network management objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IBMFRBRS-MIB?

IBMFRBRS-MIB is an IBM proprietary MIB reporting Frame Relay BRS (Bandwidth Reservation System) configuration and statistics — identical in structure to the CX-Product family's BRS MIB. Its interface table records max/min queue depth, total bandwidth, total circuit-class count, and default circuit-class name; a circuit-class table records name, bandwidth, packets/bytes transmitted, bytes-overflow, last-interval packet/byte/overflow counts, and a clear-counters action; and a circuit table records circuit number, max/min queue, and total bandwidth/traffic-class count. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm bandwidth-reservation allocation per circuit class on IBM Frame Relay equipment. It is deployed on IBM Frame Relay networking equipment (BRS bandwidth reservation). Engineers can download the IBMFRBRS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IBMFRBRS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • IBM Frame Relay networking equipment (BRS bandwidth reservation)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks ibmfrBRSCircuitClassBytesOverflow to identify which circuit class is exceeding its reserved bandwidth allocation on IBM Frame Relay equipment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-circuit-class bandwidth allocation and overflow statistics
