What Is INTEL-WBR-MIB?

INTEL-WBR-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB for Intel's WAN Bridge/Router products, covering WAN bridging of IP and IPX traffic together with Spanning Tree Protocol status. It exposes base bridging configuration (whether IP/IPX bridging is enabled), STP bridge aging time and root status, and counters for transmitted, received, and failed BPDUs, including counters for spoofed BPDUs. Its monitoring emphasis is software/protocol-level bridging and STP health: whether the device holds the STP root role and BPDU exchange counts reveal spanning-tree stability, a topology-level fault indicator rather than a physical hardware sensor. It depends on the IEEE 802.1D Spanning Tree Protocol standard for its STP-related semantics. It is deployed on Intel WAN bridge/router access devices connecting remote sites over bridged WAN links, and administrators typically begin with an INTEL-WBR-MIB download to load these objects into their monitoring tools.
