Description: Huawei L2 MAC address management MIB for managing dynamic and static MAC address entries, MAC learning limits, and aging on Ethernet switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-L2MAM-MIB?

HUAWEI-L2MAM-MIB is a Huawei Technologies proprietary MIB managing Layer 2 MAC address forwarding and MAC-limit rules. Its objects cover a global max-MAC-limit, a static-FDB configuration table (MAC, VLAN ID, VSI name, port, type, row status, ATM port/VPI/VCI, CE-default flag), a dynamic-FDB table with the equivalent learned-entry fields and a dynamic-to-static conversion enable flag, and a MAC-limit table. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm static/dynamic MAC forwarding entries and per-port/VSI MAC-limit enforcement. It is deployed on Huawei Technologies switches/routers. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-L2MAM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-L2MAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei Technologies switches/routers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hwCfgFdbTable and hwMacLimitTable to confirm static MAC entries and per-VSI MAC-limit enforcement on a Huawei device.
