What Is HUAWEI-ATM-CM-RM-MIB?

HUAWEI-ATM-CM-RM-MIB is a Huawei vendor-specific MIB (hwAtmCmRm) providing ATM connection and resource management objects for Huawei access/aggregation platforms, generated with MG-SOFT's Visual MIB Builder. It exposes per-port ATM bandwidth reservation (hwAtmPortBandWidthTable, indexed by ifIndex) and per-frame/slot APM (ATM Physical Medium) bandwidth allocation by traffic class (hwApmBandWidthTable, with hwApmBandWidthType distinguishing vpring, relay, and inner traffic). It also exposes a virtual-channel-link attribute table (hwVclAttrTable, indexed by ifIndex/VPI/VCI) describing each PVC's encapsulation type (auto, LLC- or VC-MUX-based bridging/PPP/IP), learned source and gateway MAC/IP addresses, IP addressing mode (dynamic or static), and session identifier. Monitoring this data reveals whether ATM PVCs are encapsulated and addressed as expected and whether port/frame bandwidth allocations leave headroom for new connections, which is useful when diagnosing ADSL/ATM access congestion or misconfigured PVC encapsulation. It depends on the ATM-MIB (for VPI/VCI identifiers) and Huawei's HUAWEI-DEVICE-MIB and HUAWEI-MIB for frame/slot indexing and the enterprise OID tree; network teams can download the HUAWEI-ATM-CM-RM-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-ATM-CM-RM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei ATM/ADSL access and aggregation platforms

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hwVclEncapType and hwVclUserSrcIpMode for a subscriber's PVC to confirm it's using the expected bridging encapsulation and static IP assignment, then checks hwAtmPortBandWidthValue on that port; a PVC reporting an unexpected encapsulation type alongside a maxed-out port bandwidth value would point to a provisioning mismatch causing degraded throughput.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-port ATM bandwidth allocation
  • per-frame/slot APM bandwidth by traffic type
  • PVC encapsulation type per VPI/VCI
  • PVC source/gateway MAC and IP addressing
  • IP addressing mode (static/dynamic) per PVC
