Description: Manages DGP UPS system battery status, power metrics, and alarm notifications.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DGPUPS-MIB?
DGPUPS-MIB is a vendor MIB for DGP-branded UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems, part of a power-protection equipment product line, used to manage battery status, power metrics, and alarm/trap notifications for the UPS device. It exposes UPS identity (model, firmware revision), configuration of SNMP trap receivers for alerting, and severity-based alarm delivery, alongside base UPS status objects. For monitoring it is centrally focused on hardware power status: battery condition, firmware revision (software status), and configurable severity-based traps that alert on power events such as utility power loss, battery-low conditions, or overload, which are the core concerns for any UPS deployment. It parallels the structure of the standard IETF UPS-MIB (RFC 1628) in spirit, defining its own base/smart identity objects (upsBaseIdentModel, upsBaseIdentUpsName, upsSmartIdentFirmwareRevision) rather than directly reusing it. It is deployed on DGP UPS units protecting server rooms, network closets, or data center racks from power interruption. Engineers can download the DGPUPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DGPUPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- DGP UPS (uninterruptible power supply) system
Monitoring Examples
A facilities/IT admin would poll upsBaseIdentModel and upsSmartIdentFirmwareRevision to inventory the exact UPS hardware and confirm firmware is up to date, and configure mconfigTrapsReceiversTable/mconfigTrapsReceiversEntry entries (with trapsReceiverAddr and severityLevel) to ensure critical power alarms are routed to the NOC. When utility power fails, the UPS would emit a trap whose severityLevel and receiverAccept settings determine whether it reaches the configured receiverCommunityString-authenticated management station, alerting staff to a battery-runtime countdown before graceful shutdown is needed. This trap-receiver configuration pattern is central to ensuring power events aren't silently missed.
What Can Be Monitored
- battery status
- UPS model/firmware identification
- trap receiver configuration
- alarm severity level
- power event notifications (utility loss, overload)

In other words, the UPS will not re-energize the output until the battery capacity is equal to this value. Allowed values are 0, 10, 25, or 90 percent. If a value other than a supported value is provided in a set request, the UPS interprets it as a the next higher acceptable value. If the provided value is higher than the highest acceptable value, the highest acceptable value is used. |

For these adjustable units, if a value other than a supported value is provided in a set request, the UPS interprets it as the next lower acceptable value. If the provided value is lower than the lowest acceptable value, the lowest acceptable value is used. |
| INT upsSmartConfigReturnDelay | 1.3.6.1.4.1.17420.1.1.2.5.2.9 | INTEGER | read-write | The delay in seconds after utility line power returns before the UPS will turn on. This value is also used when the UPS comes out of a reboot and before the UPS wakes up from 'sleep' mode. Allowed values are 0, 60, 180 and 300 seconds. If a value other than a supported value is provided in a set request, the UPS interprets it as a the next higher acceptable value. If the provided value is higher than the highest acceptable value, the highest acceptable value is used. |

The UPS will not go to sleep until told to do so by the manager from a management station. Any input value is allowed, however the UPS only recognizes 0 - 9999 minutes in one minute increments. If the provided value is higher than the highest acceptable value, the highest acceptable value is used. |
