Description: Huawei HSL (High Speed Link) MIB providing management objects for high-speed inter-board and inter-chassis links on modular Huawei platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-HSL-MIB?

HUAWEI-HSL-MIB (High Speed Link) is a Huawei MIB for managing high-speed inter-board and inter-chassis links on modular network platforms, such as connections between line cards, fabric modules, or stacked chassis units. It exposes link status and performance/error data for these internal interconnects, placing it in the hardware status and fault-detection category. Monitoring it is directly about internal hardware health: confirming each high-speed interconnect link is up, and watching error or CRC-style counters to catch a failing backplane connection or cable before it takes a line card or an entire chassis member offline. It complements entity/inventory concepts (similar to ENTITY-MIB) used to identify the specific boards or chassis units a link connects. It is deployed on Huawei modular, chassis-based routers and switches with multiple line cards or stacked units, where HUAWEI-HSL-MIB SNMP monitoring helps catch a failing backplane connection before it takes a card offline.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-HSL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei modular/chassis-based routers and switches

Monitoring Examples

Polling the HSL link status objects for each inter-board or inter-chassis link lets an operator confirm the high-speed interconnects between line cards or stacked chassis are up, and rising link error counters can reveal a failing backplane connection before it causes a card or chassis member to become unreachable.

What Can Be Monitored

  • inter-board/inter-chassis link status
  • link error/CRC counters
  • link bandwidth/rate
  • board interconnect topology
