Description: ZTE ROS router MIB for copying configuration files between running, startup, network (TFTP/FTP), and local file system targets on ZTE ZXR10 routers

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CONFIG-COPY-MIB?

CONFIG-COPY-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from ZTE for its ROS-based ZXR10 router platform, modeled closely on the standard Cisco/IETF CONFIG-COPY-MIB pattern, used to manage configuration file transfer operations. It exposes a control table for initiating and tracking copy operations between the running configuration, startup configuration, a remote TFTP/FTP server, and the local file system. Rather than exposing hardware health telemetry, this MIB is a configuration-management and operational-software tool: it lets an operator monitor the software/configuration state of the device by tracking copy job status, source/destination file types, and completion notifications, which is critical for confirming a configuration change was saved or backed up correctly. It closely parallels (and likely depends conceptually on) the IETF CONFIG-COPY-MIB / SNMPv2-TC framework for its table structure and row-status semantics. It is typically used during router provisioning, backup, and firmware/config rollback workflows in ZTE ROS network deployments. Engineers can download the CONFIG-COPY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CONFIG-COPY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ZTE ZXR10 router running ZTE ROS

Monitoring Examples

An operator sets copySourceFileType and copyDestFileType along with copyServerAddress in a new copyTable row (indexed by copyIndex) to push a running configuration to a TFTP server, then polls the row's status to confirm success. copyNotificationOnCompletion allows the agent to send a trap when the operation finishes rather than requiring the client to poll continuously. Anomalies such as a stuck or failed copy job would be revealed by a row that never transitions out of an in-progress state or reports a non-success result code.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configuration copy job status
  • source/destination file type
  • copy server address
  • copy completion notifications
  • running vs startup configuration sync state
