Module: CONFIG-COPY-MIB

OID (symbolic): CONFIG-COPY-MIB::copyServerAddress

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: IpAddress

Access: read-create

Description: The ip address of the tftp server from (or to) which to copy the configuration file. This object must be created when either the copySourceFileType or copyDestFileType has the value networkFile. Values of 0.0.0.0 or FF.FF.FF.FF for copyServerAddress are not allowed.

What is copyServerAddress?

This read-create IpAddress gives the TFTP (or other network) server's address to copy the configuration file to or from, and must be set whenever either file type is networkFile; the all-zero and all-ones addresses are explicitly disallowed. Admins use it to point a config backup or restore operation at the right server. For example, an admin scheduling nightly config backups would set copyServerAddress to their TFTP backup server's IP before starting the copy.
