Description: IPO-PROD-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IPO-PROD-MIB?

IPO-PROD-MIB is an Avaya enterprise MIB that defines the sysObjectID/product-identity OID tree for the Avaya IP Office family of telephone switches. Rather than exposing live counters, it enumerates the structural building blocks of an IP Office system: controllers, expansion modules, slots, slot-mounted modules, ports, and dongle (license key) modules. Its monitoring role is chiefly identification of hardware configuration and software/licensing presence, letting a management station recognize which specific chassis, expansion unit, or port card a given SNMP agent instance represents so that other IP Office MIBs (like IPO-PHONES-MIB) can be interpreted correctly against the physical topology. It underpins and is referenced by other Avaya IP Office MIBs that report per-module or per-port status. It is deployed exclusively on Avaya IP Office control units and their expansion chassis in small/midsize business telephony environments. Engineers can download the IPO-PROD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IPO-PROD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Avaya IP Office control units and expansion chassis

Monitoring Examples

A management system reads sysObjectID against the ipoProdControllers and ipoProdExpModules branches to determine exactly which IP Office control unit and expansion module model is running, which then dictates how ipoProdSlots and ipoProdSlotModules are interpreted for that chassis. ipoProdDongleModules identifies presence of the security/licensing dongle, whose absence would explain a system running in a restricted feature mode. ipoProdPorts is used to reconcile the expected physical port count against what other MIBs report as populated.

What Can Be Monitored

  • controller/product model identity
  • expansion module presence and type
  • slot and slot-module inventory
  • port count
  • dongle/license module presence
