Category: Cisco Devices, Wireless and WLAN

Description: Manages radio frequency diagnostics on Cisco 802.11 access points, providing RF noise, interference, and signal quality measurements.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-DOT11-RADIO-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB?

CISCO-DOT11-RADIO-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB is a Cisco Systems, Inc. proprietary MIB implemented on 802.11a/b/g Access Points and Wireless Bridges to support radio-environment diagnosis. Its objects let an administrator temporarily alter a radio interface's channel and TX power level (and clients' TX power) via a diagnostic table (temp channel, temp TX power level, diagnostic mode, settings-enabled flag, temp client TX power, temp data-rate set) to discover interference and coverage issues. As a diagnostic/configuration MIB it lets an administrator perform live RF-diagnostic channel/power sweeps on a Cisco 802.11 access point. It is deployed on Cisco Systems 802.11 access points and wireless bridges. Engineers can download the CISCO-DOT11-RADIO-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-DOT11-RADIO-DIAGNOSTIC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Systems 802.11 access points and wireless bridges

Monitoring Examples

An administrator sets cDot11RadioDiagTempChannel and cDot11RadioDiagTempTxPowerLevel to run a live RF-diagnostic sweep on a Cisco 802.11 access point.

What Can Be Monitored
