What Is CISCO-DOT11-SSID-SECURITY-MIB?

CISCO-DOT11-SSID-SECURITY-MIB manages per-SSID security policy on Cisco IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN devices, covering association and authentication settings such as broadcast behavior, infrastructure mode, VLAN binding, WPA pre-shared keys, and RADIUS accounting for each configured SSID. The data it exposes is largely security and network-configuration data rather than hardware health: per-SSID broadcast/hidden settings, maximum associated stations, VLAN assignment, WPA-PSK configuration, and even login username/password fields for certain auxiliary SSID use cases. As a configuration-status MIB it lets an administrator audit which security mode and VLAN each SSID is bound to and confirm station-count limits and RADIUS accounting are correctly applied, which matters for both security posture and capacity planning on the wireless network. It is a Cisco-specific extension to the general 802.11 wireless LAN management model and typically works alongside other Cisco dot11 MIBs for radio and association-table data.
