Description: Alcatel-Lucent 7x50 service router MIB for managing IGMP snooping on service access points, SDP bindings, and multicast group filter policies
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ALCATEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB?
ALCATEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB is an Alcatel-Lucent proprietary MIB for the 7x50 family of service routers, covering configuration and management of IGMP snooping — the feature that lets a service router intelligently forward IP multicast traffic only to interested ports. It exposes per-service configuration objects including administrative state, query interval, robustness count, and Multicast VLAN Registration (MVR) settings, along with policy objects controlling which multicast groups are permitted. Its monitoring role centers on multicast service configuration and operational state rather than classic hardware health: operators use it to verify IGMP snooping is administratively enabled where expected, confirm query timer and robustness settings match network design, and track when configuration last changed. It is closely tied to IETF IGMP (RFC 3376) and to Alcatel-Lucent's own service/SAP object model (VPLS/TLS service framework) that it plugs into. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) 7x50 service routers in triple-play/IPTV and enterprise multicast deployments where efficient multicast distribution over Ethernet VPLS services is required, and an ALCATEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB download is available for administrators who need to load it directly into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALCATEL-IGMP-SNOOPING-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Alcatel-Lucent (Nokia) 7x50 service routers
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll tlsIgmpSnpgConfigTable/tlsIgmpSnpgConfigEntry per service to confirm tlsIgmpSnpgCfgAdminState is enabled and that tlsIgmpSnpgCfgGenQueryIntvl and tlsIgmpSnpgCfgRobustCount are set per the network's multicast design. Checking tlsIgmpSnpgCfgLastChangeTime helps correlate a reported IPTV channel-join problem with a recent, possibly unintended, configuration change, while tlsIgmpSnpgCfgMvrAdminState and tlsIgmpSnpgCfgMvrPolicy reveal whether Multicast VLAN Registration is active and which policy governs it.
What Can Be Monitored
- IGMP snooping admin state per service
- query interval and robustness count
- multicast VLAN registration (MVR) state/policy
- configuration last-change timestamp

| I32 sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.17 | Integer32 | read-write | The value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW specifies the bandwidth pre-reserved for all the mandatory channels on a given interface in kilo-bits per second(kbps). If the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW is '0', no mandatory channels are allowed. If the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW is '-1', then all mandatory and optional channels are allowed. If the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW is equal to the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW, then all the unconstrained bandwidth on a given interface is allocated to mandatory channels configured through multicast CAC policy on that interface and no optional groups (channels) are allowed. The value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW should always be less than or equal to that of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW. An attempt to set the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW greater than that of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW will result in inconsistent value error. |
| I32 sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW | 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.3.2.2.2.1.1.15 | Integer32 | read-write | The value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW specifies the bandwidth assigned for interface's multicast CAC policy traffic in kilo-bits per second(kbps). If the default value of '-1' is set, there is no constraint on bandwidth allocated at the interface. If the value of sapIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW is set to '0' and if a multicast CAC policy is assigned on the interface, then no group (channel) from that policy is allowed on that interface. |

If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW is '0', no mandatory channels are allowed. If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW is '-1', then all mandatory and optional channels are allowed. If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW is equal to the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW, then all the unconstrained bandwidth on a given interface is allocated to mandatory channels configured through multicast CAC policy on that interface and no optional groups (channels) are allowed. The value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW should always be less than or equal to that of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW. An attempt to set the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacPrRsvMndBW greater than that of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW will result in inconsistent value error. |

If the default value of '-1' is set, there is no constraint on bandwidth allocated at the interface. If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgMcacUnconstBW is set to '0' and if a multicast CAC policy is assigned on the interface, then no group (channel) from that policy is allowed on that interface. |

This object allows tuning for the expected packet loss on this SDP. If a SDP is expected to be lossy, the Robustness Variable may be increased. IGMP snooping is robust to (Robustness Variable-1) packet losses. The value of this object is only meaningful when the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgCfgSendQueries is 'enabled(1)'. |

If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgGrpSrcExpiryTime is non-zero and the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgGrpFilterMode corresponding to this entry is 'include(1)', it means that there are currently one or more systems which desire to receive multicast traffic for this Source. If this timer expires and the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgGrpFilterMode is 'include(1)', the system concludes that traffic from this particular Source is no longer desired on the attached network, and deletes this entry. If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgGrpSrcExpiryTime is non-zero and the filter-mode for the group is 'exclude(2)', it means that at least one system desires to receive multicast traffic from this Source. If the value of sdpBndIgmpSnpgGrpSrcExpiryTime is zero and the filter-mode for the group is 'exclude(2)', it means that no system desires to receive multicast traffic from this Source. |
