Description: IETF PWE3 draft-04 textual conventions MIB defining shared data types and object identities used across all pseudo-wire service MIBs over packet-switched networks

What Is PW-TC-DRAFT04-MIB?
PW-TC-DRAFT04-MIB is a vendor-neutral IETF draft (PWE3 working group, pseudo-wire emulation edge-to-edge) module that defines shared Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITY definitions used across the family of pseudo-wire service MIBs, providing common data types (e.g., PW encapsulation types, PW status codes) rather than device-specific runtime data. As a textual-conventions module it does not itself expose monitorable operational counters, sensors, or fault objects; instead it standardizes the vocabulary that other PW MIBs (such as PW-MIB, PW-ATM-MIB, PW-ENET-MIB) build upon so that pseudo-wire status and configuration are represented consistently across implementations. There are no runtime data objects to monitor here since it is a type-definition/conformance-adjacent module rather than an operational one. Its whole purpose is dependency: it exists to be imported by other pseudo-wire MIBs implementing PWE3 over packet-switched networks (MPLS or IP). Network engineers implementing PWE3 consult the PW-TC-DRAFT04-MIB reference indirectly, wherever routers or switches supporting pseudo-wire/PWE3 services need standardized PW type definitions loaded alongside their operational PW MIBs.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PW-TC-DRAFT04-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, not tied to a specific manufacturer; used as a supporting definitions module on routers/switches implementing PWE3 pseudo-wire services
Monitoring Examples
This module defines only Textual Conventions and OBJECT-IDENTITY values (as confirmed by its module_desc) with no sample runtime objects provided, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe honestly; it functions purely as a shared type-definitions dependency imported by other pseudo-wire MIBs rather than exposing pollable data itself.
