What Is ADVA-FSPR7-DEF-MIB?
ADVA-FSPR7-DEF-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from ADVA Optical Networking for the FSP 3000 R7 family of optical transport platforms, defining default/base configuration values for equipment and cross-connections. It exposes configuration objects for cross-connections between optical/electrical ports (admin state, connection type, alias, path node, tunnel AID, cross-connect function) as well as management-related defaults for optical line and equipment settings. Its monitoring relevance is primarily around the configuration and administrative/operational status of cross-connects -- confirming a given cross-connection is administratively up, correctly typed, and mapped to the expected optical line, which is central to verifying the optical transport path is provisioned and healthy. It builds on ADVA's broader entity/equipment management MIB structure for the FSP R7 platform rather than standard IETF MIBs. It is deployed on ADVA FSP 3000 R7 optical transport network elements used by carriers for DWDM/optical transmission networks. Engineers can download the ADVA-FSPR7-DEF-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An administrator would query crossConnectionDefTable/crossConnectionDefEntry for a given crossConnectionDefTunnelAid to check crossConnectionDefAdmin and crossConnectionDefRedLineState, confirming the cross-connect is enabled and not in a protection/redline fallback condition. crossOpticalLineDefTable would be checked alongside it to verify the associated optical line default parameters match the intended provisioning. An unexpected crossConnectionDefRedLineState value would flag a protection-switch event or line fault on that optical path.
