Description: Manages Ciena LEOS Provider Backbone Transport tunnel configuration and forwarding path status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WWP-LEOS-PBT-MIB?
WWP-LEOS-PBT-MIB is a Ciena (World Wide Packets, LEOS platform) proprietary MIB implementing PBT (Provider Backbone Transport, IEEE 802.1Qay), a connection-oriented Ethernet-tunneling technology built on top of the vendor's VPLS MIB. Its objects cover bridge MAC address, service/tunnel tag EtherTypes, tunnel-reversion state and hold time, transit-tunnel EtherType remarking, admin/operational mode, service-VLAN TPID, tunnel-switchover hold time, a bridge-name-to-MAC mapping table, a reserved-B-VID table, and a virtual-circuit table, alongside tunnel activate/deactivate/reversion notifications. As a configuration/protocol-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a PBT tunnel's admin/operational mode and watch for reversion or switchover events. It is deployed on Ciena (World Wide Packets LEOS) carrier Ethernet switches using PBT. Engineers can download the WWP-LEOS-PBT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-LEOS-PBT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ciena (World Wide Packets LEOS) carrier Ethernet switches (PBT)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator subscribes to wwpLeosTcePbtTunnelReversionNotification to get alerted whenever a PBT tunnel reverts to its primary path after a protection switchover on a Ciena LEOS switch.
What Can Be Monitored
- PBT tunnel mode, switchover, and reversion events

RFC description
Ciena/World Wide Packets MIB for Provider Backbone Bridging and Tunneling (PBT) functionality on SAOS network devices. Defines management objects for PBT encapsulation configuration, tunnel groups, tunnel reversion, virtual circuits, and SNMP trap notifications.
Start monitoring Ciena (World Wide Packets LEOS) carrier Ethernet switches, PBT (tunnel admin/oper-mode and reversion-event status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
