Category: Ciena LEOS Carrier Ethernet

Description: Manages Ciena LEOS MPLS Label Distribution Protocol session state, label bindings, and peer adjacency.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WWP-LEOS-LDP-MIB?

WWP-LEOS-LDP-MIB is a World Wide Packets (WWP, acquired by Ciena) LEOS-platform MIB managing MPLS Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) sessions, hello adjacencies, and per-interface LDP configuration on Ciena/WWP LEOS Ethernet transport switches. It exposes session-level state, adjacency-level state (hello adjacency hold times, peer hold time), and interface-level LDP enablement, i.e., control-plane protocol status rather than raw traffic counters. Its monitoring value is chiefly software/protocol status: tracking whether LDP sessions and hello adjacencies to MPLS peers are established and healthy, and whether configured vs. peer hold-timers match, which reveals flapping or misconfigured LDP neighbors. The module description notes it extends the standard BRIDGE-MIB framework for WWP products, so it has a documented dependency on that IETF MIB. It is deployed in Ciena/WWP LEOS-based MPLS/Ethernet transport network switches used by carriers for label-switched service delivery. Engineers can download the WWP-LEOS-LDP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-LEOS-LDP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ciena/WWP LEOS MPLS/Ethernet transport switch

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll wwpLeosLdpSessionTable/wwpLeosLdpSessionEntry to confirm an LDP session to a given peer router is in the operational state, and check wwpLeosLdpHelloAdjacencyTable/wwpLeosLdpHelloAdjacencyEntry rows keyed by wwpLeosLdpHelloAdjacencyIndex for adjacency status. Comparing wwpLeosLdpHelloAdjacencyConfiguredHoldTime against wwpLeosLdpHelloAdjacencyPeerHoldTime would reveal a hold-time mismatch that could cause premature adjacency teardown. Polling wwpLeosLdpIfTable/wwpLeosLdpIfEntry would confirm which interfaces have LDP enabled, useful when a newly provisioned MPLS link fails to establish a label-switched path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • LDP session state per peer
  • hello adjacency state
  • configured vs peer hold time
  • per-interface LDP enablement
