Category: NETGEAR Wireless

Description: Manages NETGEAR WG102 wireless access point configuration, radio statistics, and client connectivity monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WG102-MIB?

This is a NETGEAR vendor MIB for the WG102, an 802.11g ProSafe wireless access point aimed at small/medium business deployments. It exposes device identity and network configuration data - MAC address, firmware version, IP address/subnet/gateway, DNS server, DHCP mode - along with system name, date/time, timezone/DST, and regulatory country domain settings. For monitoring it reports software status through apFirmwareVersion (confirming the AP is on the expected release) and configuration health through the IP/DHCP settings, while apDateTime/apTimeZone/apDaylightSaving let an admin verify the AP's clock is correctly synchronized for log correlation. It is a standalone vendor MIB; deeper radio and per-client statistics on this AP would typically come from standard 802.11 (dot11) wireless MIBs alongside it. It is deployed on NETGEAR WG102 access points in small/medium business wireless networks, managed via NETGEAR's tools or a generic SNMP NMS. Engineers can download the WG102-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WG102-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • NETGEAR WG102 802.11g ProSafe wireless access points

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll apFirmwareVersion to confirm the AP is running the expected firmware release, check apIPaddress/apIPsubnetMask/apGateway/apDNSServerIPAddress and apDHCPMode to verify current network configuration, and check apDateTime/apTimeZone/apDaylightSaving to confirm the AP's clock is correctly synchronized, which matters for correlating its logs with other network events.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware version
  • IP/network configuration
  • DHCP mode
  • system name
  • date/time and timezone settings
