Category: WAN and Access

Description: Monitors Western Multiplex wireless backhaul system parameters including link status and radio performance.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WESTERN-MULTIPLEX-MIB?

WESTERN-MULTIPLEX-MIB is a Western Multiplex (fixed-wireless microwave radio vendor, later part of Proxim/BridgeWave) proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 3727) reporting chassis/component inventory, clock, boot history, and event-log configuration. Its objects cover a primary serial number, a component-ID table (serial number, type, location, state), current date/time and timezone offset, boot/reboot actions and history (date, previous date, reboot count, clear-date), and log settings (max/current size, index, current/radio health, severity filter, filtered specifics/severity/rules, and view-page size/control). As a hardware/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm component serial numbers and review boot history and event-log health indicators. It is deployed on Western Multiplex (Proxim/BridgeWave) fixed-wireless microwave radio equipment. Engineers can download the WESTERN-MULTIPLEX-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WESTERN-MULTIPLEX-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Western Multiplex (Proxim/BridgeWave) fixed-wireless microwave radio equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks bootRebootCount and logCurrentHEALTH to review a Western Multiplex microwave radio unit's stability history before a scheduled maintenance window.
