Category: WAN and Access

Description: Monitors Pepwave WAN interface status, link health, bandwidth usage, and failover configuration across multiple uplinks.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is WAN?

This MIB module, titled simply "WAN," is a Pepwave-specific module for monitoring WAN interface status, link health, bandwidth usage, and failover configuration across a Pepwave multi-WAN router's uplinks. It exposes data about each WAN uplink's connectivity state, throughput/bandwidth consumption, and how failover/load-balancing across links is configured. Its monitoring role is squarely operational: tracking whether each WAN link is up or down, how much bandwidth it is consuming, and whether failover has kicked in, which together serve as the primary hardware/software health indicators for a device whose core function is WAN aggregation. No specific dependency on other MIBs is apparent from the minimal module description. It is deployed on Pepwave routers/gateways used for multi-WAN bonding and failover in branch-office or SD-WAN-style connectivity. Engineers can download the WAN file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WAN. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Pepwave multi-WAN router/gateway

Monitoring Examples

No sample object or table names were extracted for this module, so specific identifiers cannot be cited; an administrator would typically poll per-uplink link status and bandwidth usage objects to detect a failed WAN connection triggering automatic failover to a backup link. Without a verified object list, further technical detail here would not be grounded in the actual MIB content.

What Can Be Monitored

  • WAN link status per uplink
  • bandwidth usage per uplink
  • failover state
  • WAN failover configuration
