Description: Monitors Nokia Tropic alarm panel status, active alarms, and alarm severity levels for optical transport.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TROPIC-ALARMPANEL-MIB?
TROPIC-ALARMPANEL-MIB is a Nokia (formerly Alcatel-Lucent, 'Tropic'-family) proprietary MIB reporting the physical shelf alarm/status panel on Nokia transport equipment. Its panel table records identification detail (name, description, CLEI code, hardware/serial/part numbers) and the color/on-off state of each panel indicator LED — ACO (Alarm Cut-Off), node-critical, node-major, node-minor, node-warning, and shelf-level — plus an ACO trigger object and a related CPI (Craft Port Interface) table. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator read the current alarm-severity LED state remotely, matching what a technician would see standing in front of the shelf. It is deployed on Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) Tropic-family transport shelves. Engineers can download the TROPIC-ALARMPANEL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TROPIC-ALARMPANEL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Nokia (Alcatel-Lucent) Tropic-family transport shelves
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks tnUserInterfacePanelNodeCriticalLEDState remotely to confirm whether a shelf's critical-alarm LED is lit before dispatching a technician to a remote site.
What Can Be Monitored
- shelf alarm panel LED states
