This counter accumulates the total number of malformed DHCP packets received by the DHCP relay agent on a router interface. Malformed packets violate DHCP protocol format requirements and are discarded without forwarding. Operators monitor this counter to detect client configuration problems or detect attacks attempting to disrupt DHCP service.
