tmnxVRtrMcastMaxRoutesTCA

Module: TIMETRA-VRTR-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-VRTR-MIB::tmnxVRtrMcastMaxRoutesTCA

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.3.0.6

Node type: NOTIFICATION-TYPE

Description: The tmnxVRtrMcastMaxRoutesTCA notification is generated when the number of multicast routes contained in a VPRN exceeds the value specified by vRtrMaxMcastNumRoutes. No other notifications of this type are generated until after the soak period specified by vRtrRouteThresholdSoakTime has expired.

What is tmnxVRtrMcastMaxRoutesTCA?

This notification is triggered when the number of multicast routes in a virtual private routed network (VPRN) exceeds a configured maximum threshold, indicating potential resource exhaustion. Once the threshold is exceeded, no further notifications of this type are sent until a soak period elapses, preventing alarm storms. Operators use this threshold crossing alert to monitor multicast route consumption and plan network capacity.

Examples

Send this trap to an SNMP manager — replace <manager> with the IP or hostname of your monitoring server (SNMPv2c):

snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' TIMETRA-VRTR-MIB::tmnxVRtrMcastMaxRoutesTCA
snmptrap -v2c -c public <manager> '' 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.3.3.0.6

Listen for incoming traps on the manager host (-f keeps it in the foreground, -Lo prints to stdout — useful for testing):

snmptrapd -f -Lo -c /dev/null authCommunity log public
