Description: Manages Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR route next-hop template definitions and policy bindings.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TIMETRA-ROUTE-NEXT-HOP-TEMPLATE-MIB?

This Nokia proprietary MIB manages route next-hop templates on the 7xxx SROS platform, a provisioning construct that lets an operator define a reusable set of next-hop attributes (such as SRLG membership) to apply consistently across multiple routes. It exposes template configuration -- name, version, row status, description, and SRLG-enable flag -- along with administrative control/apply objects and change-tracking timestamps. Its monitoring role is administrative-state-oriented: tmnxRouteNHTemplateRowStatus and tmnxRouteNHTemplateRowLstChng reveal whether a template is active and when it was last modified, while tmnxRouteNHAdminControlApply/tmnxRouteNHAdminLastChangeTime show whether a pending template change has actually been committed to the routing table. As a Nokia SROS extension it interacts with the broader routing/SRLG (shared risk link group) infrastructure on the platform. It's typically deployed on 7750 SR / 7950 XRS core routers using SRLG-aware next-hop templates for diverse-path traffic engineering, and a TIMETRA-ROUTE-NEXT-HOP-TEMPLATE-MIB download is required to load the module into a MIB browser for review.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-ROUTE-NEXT-HOP-TEMPLATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR
  • 7950 XRS core router

Monitoring Examples

An operator checks tmnxRouteNHTemplateTable / tmnxRouteNHTemplateEntry keyed by tmnxRouteNHTemplateName, comparing tmnxRouteNHTemplateVersion and tmnxRouteNHTemplateRowLstChng to confirm a template update has propagated. Verifying tmnxRouteNHAdminControlApply after an edit confirms whether the change was actually applied to the routing table, and tmnxRouteNHTemplateSrlgEnable would be checked when diagnosing why two supposedly diverse paths are unexpectedly sharing a shared-risk link group.

What Can Be Monitored

  • template row status
  • template version and last-changed time
  • SRLG enable flag
  • admin control apply state
  • template description
