Description: Manages Nokia/Alcatel-Lucent 7750 SR IPsec static security association parameters and keys.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is TIMETRA-IPSEC-STATIC-SA-MIB?
This MIB module is part of Alcatel-Lucent's (now Nokia's) TIMETRA enterprise tree for the 7750 SR SROS platform, managing manually configured (static) IPsec Security Associations used for tunnel encryption and authentication. It exposes a table of configured static SAs including direction (inbound/outbound), protocol, authentication algorithm and key, SPI value, description, and row status, along with a table-level last-changed timestamp. It is used to monitor and manage the software/security configuration status of IPsec tunnels, confirming which SAs are active, correctly keyed, and consistently paired between peers, rather than any hardware sensor data. It is inherently dependent on IPsec/IKE standards for security-association semantics (SPI, authentication algorithms) even though the MIB itself is an Alcatel-Lucent-proprietary management representation. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia 7750 SR routers providing site-to-site IPsec VPN connectivity in carrier and enterprise WAN networks, where TIMETRA-IPSEC-STATIC-SA-MIB SNMP monitoring confirms tunnel security-association state.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TIMETRA-IPSEC-STATIC-SA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia 7750 SR (SROS router)
Monitoring Examples
A security engineer would poll the tmnxIPsecStaticSATable, keyed by tmnxIPsecStaticSAName, to confirm a given SA's tmnxIPsecStaticSADirection and tmnxIPsecStaticSASpi match the values configured on the remote peer, since an SPI or direction mismatch prevents the tunnel from passing traffic. tmnxIPsecStaticSARowStatus would be checked to verify the SA is in the active state rather than notInService after a configuration change, and tmnxIPsecStaticSALastChanged together with tmnxIPsecStaticSATableLastChange helps an operator confirm exactly when a given SA was last modified during a troubleshooting session. tmnxIPsecStaticSAAuthAlgorithm and tmnxIPsecStaticSAAuthKey would be reviewed, with appropriate access controls, to confirm the authentication algorithm configured matches policy.
What Can Be Monitored
- static IPsec SA direction/protocol
- SPI values
- authentication algorithm/key configuration
- SA row status (active/inactive)
- last-changed timestamps
