What Is TIMETRA-MIRROR-MIB?

TIMETRA-MIRROR-MIB is an Alcatel-Lucent (Timetra/SROS) proprietary module for managing traffic mirroring, also known as port/service mirroring or SPAN, on Alcatel-Lucent Service Router Operating System (SROS) platforms. Its data is primarily configuration, defining mirror destination entries that specify where mirrored traffic is sent, including SAP (Service Access Point) port and encapsulation, SDP (Service Distribution Point) number and encapsulation, forwarding class, and administrative status. Monitoring value here centers on verifying that mirroring sessions used for troubleshooting or lawful intercept are correctly configured and administratively up, letting operators confirm a mirror destination's tMirrorDestinationAdminStatus is enabled and its SAP/SDP targets are correct, rather than exposing hardware sensors. It is part of the broader Timetra/SROS enterprise MIB family and depends conceptually on the underlying SAP and SDP service constructs defined elsewhere in the SROS MIB set. It is deployed on Alcatel-Lucent 7750/7450/7250 SROS routers in service provider networks for diagnostic traffic capture and remote source mirroring. Monitoring Examples

An administrator reviews tMirrorDestinationTable/tMirrorDestinationEntry keyed by tMirrorDestinationIndex to confirm tMirrorDestinationAdminStatus is enabled and that tMirrorDestinationSapPortId/tMirrorDestinationSapEncapValue or tMirrorDestinationSdpNumber/tMirrorDestinationSdpDestEncap point to the intended capture destination. If a mirrored traffic capture session unexpectedly stops delivering data, checking tMirrorDestinationRowStatus and tMirrorDestinationRemoteSource settings for that entry would reveal whether the mirror session was disabled or misconfigured.
