Category: Data Center Infrastructure Monitoring, Environmental and Power Monitoring, Intelligent PDU Management
Description: Manages Server Technology Sentry3 intelligent PDU outlet control, metering, and environmental sensors.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Sentry3-MIB?
Sentry3-MIB is the vendor MIB for Server Technology's third-generation Sentry product family of intelligent power distribution units (PDUs), covering the Remote Power Manager (RPM), PDU, Environmental Monitor (EM), Switched Cabinet Distribution Unit (CDU), and Switched -48VDC variants. It exposes objects for outlet-level power control and metering, environmental sensor readings, and overall unit configuration/status across this shared product line. Its core monitoring value is power and environmental hardware health: per-outlet on/off state and current/power/energy metering, plus environmental sensor data such as temperature and humidity from attached EM probes, along with overall PDU/unit status and alarm conditions. Because it's a "common" MIB for a broad hardware family, its object tree is organized to be reused across multiple physical form factors rather than being tied to one specific model. It is deployed in data center and server room racks/cabinets where Sentry3-series PDUs provide remote power control, power monitoring, and environmental monitoring for equipment cabinets. Engineers can download the Sentry3-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Sentry3-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Server Technology Sentry3 PDUs (RPM, PDU, EM, CDU, Switched -48VDC)
Monitoring Examples
No concrete object or table names were captured from this MIB's parsed source. In practice an operator would poll per-outlet tables for outlet state and current/power draw, and environmental sensor objects for temperature/humidity, to detect an overloaded outlet or a cabinet exceeding its safe temperature range.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-outlet power state and control
- outlet current/power/energy metering
- environmental temperature and humidity
- overall unit/alarm status
