Category: Asentria Remote Site Monitoring, Building and Environmental Control

Description: Manages SL10-series remote site monitoring device for environmental sensors and alarm reporting.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SL10-MIB?

SL10-MIB is a vendor MIB for the SL10-series remote site monitoring device, used to watch environmental sensors and generate alarms at unattended sites, similar in purpose to the Asentria SiteBoss family. Its data covers device identity/software information (serial number, firmware version, site ID), sensor input configuration, and alarm/trap state, giving it both an inventory and an environmental-fault monitoring role. For hardware/software status monitoring it exposes firmwareVersion for confirming the installed software level, serialNumber and siteID for inventory tracking, and alarmStatus plus configurable trap destinations (snmpManager1-4) and custom trap text (thisTrapText) for alarm delivery, making it useful both for asset tracking and for real-time fault notification. It appears to be a self-contained vendor MIB with no explicit external MIB dependency indicated by its objects. It is deployed at unattended remote sites (huts, cabinets, cell sites), where SL10-MIB SNMP monitoring provides basic environmental sensing and trap-based alerting.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SL10-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • SL10-series remote site monitoring device

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll firmwareVersion and serialNumber to confirm the correct software revision is running on a given SL10 unit during an inventory audit, and check siteID to identify which physical location the unit belongs to. The input78Mode object configures how a specific sensor input is interpreted, and alarmStatus reflects whether any configured condition is currently active. When a condition trips, forceTraps and thisTrapText control whether and what custom message is sent to the configured snmpManager1 through snmpManager4 destinations.

What Can Be Monitored

  • firmware version
  • serial number and site ID
  • alarm status
  • sensor input mode configuration
  • trap destination configuration (up to 4 managers)
  • custom trap text/forced trap generation
