Description: Manages Asentria SiteBoss 420 remote site monitor for environmental sensors, alarms, and I/O control.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SITEBOSS-420-STD-MIB?

SITEBOSS-420-STD-MIB manages the Asentria SiteBoss 420, a remote telemetry/site-monitoring unit commonly used for unattended equipment sites, exposing a generic environmental sensor-point data model. It provides a table of monitored points (esPointTable) covering discrete and analog sensor/control channels — each with a name, current event/alarm state, and integer or string value — along with a separate table for configuring temperature-point thresholds. This is fundamentally a hardware/environmental-status monitoring MIB: it tracks real-world site conditions such as temperature, door/intrusion contacts, battery/power status, or other alarm inputs wired into the SiteBoss unit's I/O, flagging points that have entered an alarm ('in event') state. It defines its own generic point-based data model rather than depending on a shared IETF or vendor standard, since site-monitoring RTUs vary widely in their wired sensor configurations. It is typically deployed at unmanned remote sites — cell towers, utility huts, equipment cabinets — for centralized environmental and alarm monitoring via SNMP polling or trap alerts, with the SITEBOSS-420-STD-MIB MIB defining the point tables those alerts are built on.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SITEBOSS-420-STD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Asentria SiteBoss 420 remote site monitoring unit

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll esPointTable/esPointEntry, keyed by esIndexES/esIndexPC/esIndexPoint, to read esPointValueInt or esPointValueStr for each configured sensor/alarm point and check esPointInEventState to see if any point (e.g., a temperature sensor or door contact) has tripped into an alarm condition. Cross-referencing esPointConfigTempTable/esPointConfigTempEntry (via espcTempIndexES) shows the configured temperature thresholds, so a point reporting esPointInEventState true alongside a value beyond its configured threshold would indicate an overheating condition at the remote site.

What Can Be Monitored

  • sensor/alarm point values
  • point event/alarm state
  • temperature threshold configuration
  • point names/identifiers
