Description: Nokia Siemens Networks SHE DSLAM Layer 2 Control Protocol interface configuration, alarm severity profiles, and local L2CP host interface VLAN settings

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is SHE-L2CP-MIB?

SHE-L2CP-MIB is part of the Nokia Siemens Networks 'SHE' DSLAM MIB suite, covering Layer 2 Control Protocol (L2CP) interface configuration on the hiX5622/5625/5630/5635 family of DSL access multiplexers. It defines configuration for L2CP host interfaces, including VLAN settings, together with alarm severity profiles that control how L2CP-related fault conditions are classified and escalated. Its monitoring relevance is mainly fault/configuration status rather than raw counters: the alarm severity profile settings determine whether an L2CP interface fault is reported as critical, major, or minor to the NMS, and the VLAN configuration confirms control-plane traffic is correctly segregated on the DSLAM's local L2CP host interface. It is one module within the broader NSN SHE DSLAM MIB suite, working alongside SHE-PRODUCTS-MIB (which identifies the specific hardware platform) and other SHE MIBs covering chassis and port management. It is deployed in telecom access networks operating NSN hiX-series DSLAMs, where Layer 2 control-plane configuration and alarm handling need centralized SNMP management. Engineers can download the SHE-L2CP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SHE-L2CP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Nokia Siemens Networks hiX5622/5625/5630/5635 DSLAM

Monitoring Examples

No sample runtime objects were captured for this module, so exact identifiers cannot be cited; based on its described scope, an operator would typically configure alarm severity profile objects to control how L2CP interface faults are escalated, and check VLAN settings on the local L2CP host interface to confirm control-plane traffic segregation is correct on the DSLAM.

What Can Be Monitored

  • L2CP alarm severity profile configuration
  • local L2CP host interface VLAN settings
  • L2CP interface operational/fault status
