Description: Legacy combined MIB covering bridge, repeater/hub, and filter management for early Allied Telesis network switches and hubs

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ATI-MIB?

ATI-MIB is a legacy, combined Allied Telesis Industries module bundling bridge, repeater/hub, and port-security filter management for early-generation AT switches and hubs. It exposes a mix of configuration data (bridge and filter settings) and fault/security event objects, most notably an intruder-detection trap group that flags unauthorized MAC addresses appearing on a port. As a monitoring tool it is used to watch for security violations and unexpected topology changes on the hub/switch -- the atiTrapIntruderMacAddress, atiTrapIntruderModuleNumber, and atiTrapIntruderPortNumber objects together identify exactly which device, module, and port saw an unauthorized station, while atiPortChangeDirection reports link direction transitions. Being a legacy module, it predates and overlaps with later standard bridge MIBs (BRIDGE-MIB) and Allied Telesis's newer enterprise MIBs. It is found only on older AT hub and switch product lines still in service in legacy network segments. Engineers can download the ATI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ATI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis legacy hubs
  • Allied Telesis legacy switches

Monitoring Examples

A security-conscious admin polling this MIB would watch for atiTrapIntruderMacAddress traps carrying the offending MAC along with atiTrapIntruderModuleNumber and atiTrapIntruderPortNumber to immediately localize an unauthorized device plugged into a specific hub port. A change reported via atiPortChangeDirection could indicate a port unexpectedly flipping between uplink and access roles. This gives operators a simple intrusion-detection signal on otherwise unmanaged legacy hub hardware.

What Can Be Monitored

  • intruder MAC address detected
  • module number of intrusion
  • port number of intrusion
  • port link direction changes
