What Is RND-MIB?
RND-MIB is a large vendor-specific MIB from RAD Data Communications (RAD Network Devices) that defines the base OID tree, rnd (enterprises.89), for RAD's Vgate/OpenGate family of modular multiprotocol routers and bridges, along with a broad set of common management groups spanning far beyond a simple root — bridging (rndBridgeAlarm), interfaces (rndInterface), IPX routing and SAP/RIP (rndIPX, ripsap, ipxCircTable, ipxDestTable, ipxServTable), IP-layer extensions (ipSpec covering rsIpAddrTable, icmpSpec, rip2Spec, arpSpec, ipRedundancy, ipRouteLeaking, ipRipFilter), Facility for Access Control and Security (rndFACS), VLAN definitions (virtualLan), router-server configuration and tuning (rsConf, rsTunning, rsMaxEntriesTuning), and BootP configuration (rndBootP). Its tables are typically indexed by circuit/interface identifiers and expose both configuration objects (filters, thresholds, redundancy peers) and status/counter objects (e.g., rndFACSTable access-control entries, ipRedundRoutersTable peer status, eventMessageTable logged events). Because this module anchors the entire RAD device OID hierarchy, virtually every other RAD product-specific MIB depends on it, and it is deployed on the full range of RAD Vgate, OpenGate, and related multiprotocol router/bridge hardware. Administrators can download the RND-MIB file to load its extensive OID tree into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RND-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An operator polls ipRedundRoutersTable to confirm redundant router peers are visible and healthy, and checks rndFACSTable for unexpected access-control entries; a redundancy peer that drops out of the table, or an unexplained new FACS entry, would indicate a failover event or a security configuration change worth investigating.
