Description: The protocol, supported by this VL. The meanings of the values are: other: none of the following. This VL includes any protocol except the following protocols. It is a bridging VL. RS relies on a third-party router to exchange traffic between nodes on different virtual LANs of this type. IP: This is a routing VL, RS will route between nodes on different virtual LANs. IPmulticast: RS will broadcast the message to all the VL's ports. Used for video-conferencing applications. ipxRaw: This is a Routing VL, RS will route between nodes on different virtual LANs. ipxET: This is a routing VL, RS will route between nodes on different virtual LANs. ipxLLC: This is a routing VL, RS will route between nodes on different virtual LANs. ipxSNAP: This is a routing VL, RS will route between nodes on different virtual LANs. decNET: This is a bridging VL, RS relies on a third-party router to exchange traffic between nodes on different DECnet virtual LANs of this type. netBios: This is a Bridging VL, RS relies on a third-party router to exchange traffic between nodes on different NetBIOS virtual LANs of this type. appleTalk: This is a bridging VL, RS relies on a third-party router to exchange traffic between nodes on different AppleTalk virtual LANs of this type.
