Description: Provides management objects for Codan RC7586 satellite and HF radio modem configuration and operational status.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is RC7586-MIB?

RC7586-MIB is a Codan enterprise MIB for the RC7586 satellite/HF radio modem product, covering its operational configuration and status reporting. It exposes objects for operational mode, online stream state, waveguide switch position, LNB (low-noise block) current limit, reference oscillator source/trim/threshold/power, startup time, and basic network addressing (IP/MAC). For monitoring, it is used to confirm the modem's RF front-end and reference clock are healthy -- checking refPwr/refThresh and lnbCurrentLimit for signs of antenna or LNB hardware faults, ledState for a quick front-panel-equivalent status check, and onlineStream to confirm the satellite link is actively passing traffic. As a small vendor enterprise MIB, it has no significant dependency on external standard MIBs. It is deployed in remote/rural satellite backhaul or broadcast-distribution sites using Codan RC7586 modems, where remote SNMP polling substitutes for physical access to the equipment. Engineers can download the RC7586-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in RC7586-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Codan RC7586 satellite/HF radio modem

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll onlineStream and operationalMode to confirm the RC7586 modem is actively locked and passing satellite traffic, and check refPwr against refThresh to detect a degraded reference signal that could indicate an antenna alignment or LNB fault. lnbCurrentLimit would be monitored for signs of an LNB hardware failure (over-current or no-current condition), and ledState gives a quick remote proxy for the unit's front-panel status indicators. startupTime helps confirm whether the unit has recently rebooted unexpectedly.

What Can Be Monitored

  • operational mode and online stream status
  • reference oscillator power/threshold
  • LNB current limit
  • waveguide switch position
  • unit startup time
  • front-panel LED state
