What Is CODAN-SMI?
CODAN-SMI is a Structure of Management Information (SMI) module registering the enterprise OID subtree for Codan, a manufacturer of satellite communications and radio equipment, with a further sub-branch reserved for its satcom product line. Like other enterprise SMI root modules, it defines no manageable scalars, tables, or notifications itself -- only the OID namespace (codanMibs, satcomMibs) under which Codan's actual device MIBs are organized. It therefore plays no direct role in monitoring uptime, signal quality, hardware temperature, or any other runtime status; those objects would be defined in separate Codan satcom MIB modules built beneath this root. Its dependency is purely structural, anchoring Codan's satellite/radio equipment MIBs to a registered enterprise OID number. It is encountered in MIB toolchains managing Codan satellite communications terminals and radios, not polled directly, and a CODAN-SMI download typically accompanies the vendor's actual satcom device MIB files, since this module alone contributes only the enterprise OID registration those files build upon.

This module contains no runtime objects -- only the codanMibs and satcomMibs OID registration points under which Codan's actual satellite/radio equipment MIBs are numbered. There is no direct polling scenario for CODAN-SMI itself; monitoring would target the specific Codan satcom device MIB defined beneath this root.
