Category: Switching
Description: Manages TCP/IP stack configuration and routing table entries on the 3Com PowerHub Ethernet switching platform.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is POWERHUB-TCPIP-MIB?
POWERHUB-TCPIP-MIB manages TCP/IP stack configuration and IP routing table entries on the 3Com PowerHub Ethernet switching platform. It exposes network-layer configuration data such as IP addressing and routing table entries rather than physical hardware sensors. Its monitoring value is primarily around software/protocol state: confirming the device's IP stack configuration is correct and that its routing table reflects the expected topology, which indirectly signals whether the switch's control-plane software is operating correctly. It parallels concepts found in the standard IP-MIB and IP-FORWARD-MIB for routing table representation, suggesting conceptual dependency on those IETF standards. It is deployed alongside POWERHUB-CORE-MIB in legacy 3Com PowerHub chassis switch installations that route as well as switch traffic. Engineers can download the POWERHUB-TCPIP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in POWERHUB-TCPIP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
No sample_objects were provided in the source, so specific object or table names cannot be cited; in general an admin would poll the routing table entries to verify expected routes are present and IP configuration objects to confirm addressing is correct. A missing expected route or an unexpected default route change would be a realistic anomaly this MIB could reveal. This remains a general description pending concrete identifiers.

| INT alTcpConnState | 1.3.6.1.4.1.326.2.6.2.5.6.1.2 | INTEGER | read-write | The state of this TCP connection. The only value which may be set by a management station is deleteTCB(12). Accordingly, it is appropriate for an agent to return a `badValue' response if a management station attempts to set this object to any other value. If a management station sets this object to the value deleteTCB(12), then this has the effect of deleting the TCB (as defined in RFC 793) of the corresponding connection on the managed node, resulting in immediate termination of the connection. |
