Description: Manages Avocent power management module functions including outlet control, power measurement, and environmental monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is PM-MIB?
PM-MIB is an Avocent Corporation proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 10418) extending management for PM-PDU (Power Management PDU) products. Its objects cover host name, product model/part number/serial number/EID number, boot-code/firmware version, a reboot action, an active-sessions table (user, group, type, connection, session time, source, kill action), and a power-management serial-port table (port number, device name). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator review who is currently logged into a PDU and forcibly terminate a session. It is deployed on Avocent PM-PDU intelligent power distribution units. Engineers can download the PM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in PM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Avocent PM-PDU intelligent power distribution units
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks pmActiveSessionsTableUser to identify who is currently logged into an Avocent PM-PDU before using pmActiveSessionsTableKill to terminate a stale session.
What Can Be Monitored
- active session inventory and hardware identification
