What Is NNC-EXT-PM-STATISTICS-MIB?
NNC-EXT-PM-STATISTICS-MIB is a Newbridge Networks (later Alcatel) MIB providing extended performance monitoring statistics for ATM virtual connections, following the OAM Performance Monitoring statistics defined in Bellcore/Telcordia GR-1248-CORE with a Newbridge-specific Cell Loss Ratio extension. It exposes performance counters organized into 15-minute and 24-hour current and interval tables, tracking cell-level errors and loss on ATM virtual paths/channels. Its monitoring focus is on software/network performance status rather than physical hardware, giving administrators visibility into ATM link quality degradation over rolling short-term and long-term windows. It explicitly depends on the VPL/VCL object definitions from RFC 1695 (the ATM MIB) for its connection identification, and conforms to the GR-1248-CORE OAM PM statistics standard. It is typically deployed on Newbridge/Alcatel ATM switching and access equipment carrying performance-sensitive ATM traffic. Engineers can download the NNC-EXT-PM-STATISTICS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in NNC-EXT-PM-STATISTICS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll the OAM PM 15 Minute Current Table for a given VPL/VCL to obtain the current interval's cell loss ratio and error counts, then compare against the OAM PM 24 Hour Interval Table to see if a degradation is a transient spike or a sustained trend. A rising Cell Loss Ratio value in the current 15-minute bucket compared to historical 24-hour intervals would reveal an ATM path experiencing congestion or a failing physical link. No object names beyond the table descriptions were captured in the sample set, so table/column identifiers are inferred from the module description.

The current interval spans back to the last 15 minute tick on the wall clock. Continuing along the timeline from that point is the most recently completed interval and has an index of 1. The previous interval has an index of 2 and so on.
