Category: WAN

Description: Manages MICOM MultiProtocol ANL LMI interface parameters for WAN connectivity.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is MICOM-MPANL-LMI-MIB?

This is a MICOM Communications vendor MIB module for MultiProtocol ANL (Access Network Link) LMI interfaces, used in MICOM's WAN access/multiplexer equipment supporting frame relay-style network access. It exposes per-interface service configuration objects such as Closed User Group (CUG) facility/access settings, DNA suffix addressing, and network link ('netlink') tables, alongside general device configuration like model type and software revision. Its monitoring focus is largely configuration/service-provisioning state for WAN links rather than hardware environmentals, though mcmMLMIGenCfgSoftwareRev does let an operator confirm the running software version on the device. It appears to build on general X.25/frame-relay-style network-layer addressing concepts (CUG, DNA) rather than a specific IETF standard MIB. It would be deployed on MICOM WAN access multiplexers/routers providing multiprotocol ANL LMI service to leased-line or packet-switched WAN circuits. Engineers can download the MICOM-MPANL-LMI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in MICOM-MPANL-LMI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • MICOM WAN access multiplexer/router

Monitoring Examples

An operator would poll mcmMLMIServiceTable / mcmMLMIServiceEntry indexed by mcmMLMIServiceIfIndex to check mcmMLMIServiceCUGFacility and CUGAccess settings, confirming a WAN circuit's closed-user-group restrictions are correctly provisioned. mcmMLMIServiceDNASuffix would be checked when troubleshooting addressing/routing issues on a MICOM WAN link. mcmMLMIGenCfgSoftwareRev and mcmMLMIGenCfg4400Type provide device model and firmware version for inventory/compliance checks, while mcmMLMINetlinkTable / Entry track configured network link relationships for the interface.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CUG facility/access configuration per interface
  • DNA suffix addressing
  • software revision
  • network link configuration
