What Is MICOM-SYS-MIB?

MICOM-SYS-MIB is a MICOM Communications enterprise MIB providing system-level identity and configuration objects for MICOM networking and WAN access equipment. It exposes hardware inventory data such as model type, hardware revision level, manufacture date, serial number, module ID, and MAC address, alongside CPU configuration and primary WAN/DCE serial port physical-media settings. Administrators performing MICOM-SYS-MIB SNMP polling use it to confirm a unit's hardware identity and revision level after a deployment or RMA, verify the CPU configuration and WAN port media type match the intended provisioning, and check chassis-level grouping objects for overall system status. As a system-identity module it typically complements the standard MIB-II/IF-MIB interface counters and any MICOM product-specific MIBs that expose deeper operational or fault data. It is deployed on MICOM Communications WAN access and networking devices in enterprise and carrier access environments where hardware inventory tracking and CPU/serial-port configuration verification are routine operational tasks.
