What Is ITOUCH-ETHERNET-MIB?

ITOUCH-ETHERNET-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from Allied Telesis for their iTouch line of routers and switches, part of the broader iTouch enterprise MIB family. It exposes Ethernet interface-level data such as physical/link configuration and traffic statistics for ports on the device. Because it reports per-port counters and interface settings, it is used to monitor interface hardware status—link up/down state, traffic and error counters, and duplex/speed configuration—functioning as an interface health and performance monitoring aid for these devices. It commonly complements the standard IF-MIB/RFC1213 interface tables rather than replacing them. It is typically deployed on legacy Allied Telesis iTouch routers/switches needing basic per-port Ethernet visibility. Engineers can download the ITOUCH-ETHERNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ITOUCH-ETHERNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Ethernet interface link status
  • interface traffic counters
  • interface error counters
  • port speed/duplex configuration

Supported Devices

  • Allied Telesis iTouch routers/switches
  • MRV Communications In-Reach terminal servers (formerly iTouch Communications)

Monitoring Examples

No sample object names were supplied for this MIB, so specific table/object names cannot be confirmed here. Based on the description, an admin would typically poll interface-level tables analogous to ifTable-style entries for per-port Ethernet counters (bytes, packets, errors) and link status to detect a failing or flapping port. Because no object list was provided, exact object names beyond this general expectation cannot be cited.
