Description:

The number of ICMP Source Quench messages sent.

This object has been deprecated, as a new IP version-neutral table has been added. It is loosely replaced by a column in the icmpMsgStatsTable.

What is icmpOutSrcQuenchs?

This deprecated counter tracks the total number of ICMP Source Quench messages sent by the device to inform senders to slow down transmission. Source Quench is an obsolete flow control mechanism rarely used in modern networks and has been superseded by more modern congestion notification methods. This object is kept for backward compatibility but should not be used for new monitoring; operators should check the newer icmpMsgStatsTable instead.
