Description: General DataComm SC611 shelf controller MIB for managing chassis backplane and card configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is GDCSC611-MIB?

GDCSC611-MIB is a General DataComm vendor MIB for the SC611 shelf controller, used to manage and monitor the chassis backplane and installed cards in GDC multi-slot equipment. It exposes a bql611WhatAreYouTable identifying each installed card's base card type, option card, DTE card type, and firmware code revision, alongside a bql611ConfigTable for per-slot configuration and a bql611AlarmStatus object. This is squarely a hardware/software status MIB: it lets an operator inventory exactly which cards are installed in each shelf slot, confirm their firmware code revision, and check bql611AlarmStatus for an active chassis or card-level alarm condition, all central to diagnosing a shelf hardware fault or an unexpected card swap. As a vendor private MIB under the gdc/bql2/bql611 branches it has no declared dependency on standard IETF MIBs. It is deployed on General DataComm multiplexer/access shelves using the SC611 shelf controller card. Engineers can download the GDCSC611-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GDCSC611-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • General DataComm SC611 shelf controller / access multiplexer shelf

Monitoring Examples

A technician would poll bql611WhatAreYouTable, indexed by bql611WhatAreYouIndex, to confirm each slot's bql611BaseCardType and bql611CodeRev match the expected inventory, and would check bql611AlarmStatus for any active fault. A code revision mismatch after a card replacement, or an active alarm status on a slot that should be healthy, would indicate a firmware inconsistency or a failing card in the shelf.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed card type per slot
  • card firmware code revision
  • chassis/card alarm status
  • per-slot configuration
