Description: MICROSENS G6 MSP1000 media converter MIB for fiber port management and optical transceiver monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is G6-MSP1000-MIB?
G6-MSP1000-MIB is a MICROSENS private MIB specifically for the MSP1000 media converter/modular platform within the Generation 6 product line, covering system-wide operating mode configuration and per-slot module management. It exposes objects for NMS operation mode, core operating mode, a node identifier, legacy-access control, and a slot configuration table identifying which module is installed in each slot and whether spare-part mode is enabled. Its monitoring value is centered on hardware/module inventory and configuration state, letting an admin confirm which fiber/media modules are physically installed in each chassis slot and whether the unit is operating in a compatible mode with the management system. No explicit dependency on other MIBs is indicated beyond the shared G6 MIB suite structure. It is deployed on MICROSENS MSP1000 modular media converter chassis used for fiber-to-copper conversion in industrial or campus network installations, where the G6-MSP1000-MIB MIB Browser view makes it easy to confirm which modules are installed in each slot.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in G6-MSP1000-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- MICROSENS MSP1000 modular media converter chassis
Monitoring Examples
An admin auditing a chassis would poll slotConfigTable/slotConfigEntry via slotConfigModule to confirm which module type is installed in each slotConfigIndex position, and check slotConfigSparepartMode to see if a slot is running in a temporary spare-part configuration that should be flagged for replacement. systemConfigNmsOperationMode and systemConfigCoreMode would be checked if the device isn't responding as expected to the management system, since a mismatched mode setting could explain reduced management visibility.
What Can Be Monitored
- installed module per slot
- spare-part mode status
- NMS/core operation mode
- node identifier
